How would you classify your music?
Power-Pop / Indie Rock /Alternative
Who are some of your top 5 musical influences?
Weezer / Matthew Sweet / Fountains Of Wayne / The Beatles / Grandaddy
What do you want fans to take from your music?
It’s OK to be who you are and always do what you love to do, no matter what.
How’s the music scene in your locale?
We made the record in Edinburgh, UK which was a very supportive and welcoming scene.
What is the best concert you have been to? What do you like most about playing live?
Best concert I have been to was Super Furry Animals and Grandaddy in NYC, probably more than 10 years ago. The best thing about playing live is how meditative it is. I am always in the moment and never thinking about anything else, which for me is hard to do otherwise.
Is there a song on your latest CD release here that stands out as your personal favorite, and why?
The Depression That I Get is a standout for me. I dig the chord structure. But mostly, lyrically, it deals with depression and mental health and how we need to be more accepting and supportive of it in today’s society. It’s ok to feel sad sometimes, but its never ok to tell someone “dont be sad, cheer up!”. Talk to someone and get to know whats going on!
How have you evolved as an artist over the last year?
“At Least We’ve Got This Madness” is our debut album, and for me, it’s the best thing I have made yet. And I got to do it in another country, which was absolutely brilliant.
If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, have a drink with any band or artist (dead or alive) who would it be?
It would be me, 10 years ago. I would have some solid advice as to how to approach the industry today 🙂
What’s next for you?
I quite fancy another pint. 😉
